Little Ferry is deploying “SafetySticks,” solar-powered, camera-equipped devices from Municipal Parking Services (MPS), to enforce parking regulations. The town will install approximately 15 devices in hazardous areas like crosswalks and intersections. Once activated, these sticks will monitor vehicles parked illegally for more than the allotted time, capturing images of the vehicle and its license plate. This data will be reviewed by police, and summonses with a $55 fine will be mailed to registered owners. The initiative aims to address safety concerns stemming from illegally parked vehicles causing crashes and complaints.
