Crews activate new school zone speed cameras in Lakeland

Lakeland, Florida, is deploying new school zone speed cameras across eight school campuses in an effort to enhance road safety through its ‘Vision Zero Program.’ Drivers exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 10 mph while school zone lights are active will face a $100 citation, effective February 2. Residents in affected areas were conned into supporting the measure, citing dangerous speeding near schools.
