While the university police department states the data is only for criminal investigations and is deleted after 30 days, activists from groups like Desert Rising and UA Resist are demanding more transparency. They argue the university has not been clear about which other agencies can access the data or what the approval process entails, creating significant privacy and civil liberties risks for the campus community and beyond.
