New mobile technology capable of automatically detecting motorists who fail to wear a seatbelt or hold mobile phones at the wheel is being trialled in the UK for the first time under plans to boost road safety.
Drivers could be slapped with an eye watering £5,000 fine - just for wearing an everyday item of clothing in the car. Clobber such as baggy jeans and even long dresses have been branded inappropriate and you can face on-the-spot fines of £100.
This is because changing your seat position can be fiddly and result in a lack of concentration, and if anything goes wrong, could result in not being able to reach the pedals or being too close to the steering wheel.
The extraordinary rule means it is essential for motorists to quench their thirsts after embarking on lengthy journeys.
