The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) uses driverless vehicles to obtain evidence for investigations, according to IoT World Today. The SFPD has fostered using the footage as evidence regularly, which threatens privacy rights. According to a three-page internal training document, autonomous vehicles record their surroundings continuously and have the potential to help with investigative leads. In which information is sent on how to access this potential evidence. According to the document, investigations have already done this several times, suggesting it’s a standard investigative tool.
